LORIS HEALTHCARE SYSTEM HONORS HEALTH WORKERS
LHS Celebrates National Nurses, Hospital and Nursing Home Weeks
While Loris Healthcare System recognizes the value of its employees year-round, May is the month that formally honors the women and men who are so committed to providing care for their communities. An employee banquet held at the House of Blues on Friday, May 06, kicked-off this period of recognition and celebration.
National Nurses Week is May 6-12. Nurses Week provides the opportunity to celebrate the spirit of nursing and acknowledge the superb efforts of our healthcare employees. A celebration will be held to recognize these employees which include registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, licensed practical nurses, nursing secretaries, nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners and operating room technicians. More than two-thirds of Loris Healthcare System's employees are involved in nursing responsibilities.
National Hospital Week is an opportunity to recognize all healthcare professionals. During the week of May 8-14 there will be numerous activities held throughout Loris Healthcare System's facilities in order to thank all system employees in appreciation of their dedication and hard work.
Loris Extended Care Center will also be celebrating National Nursing Home Week May 8-14. This event, sponsored by the American Health Care Association, begins each year on Mother's Day. This community outreach program is designed to familiarize the public with long-term care facilities, their services, and the dedicated staff who supplies the care for residents. Numerous events will be held at Loris Extended Care Center for employees and residents throughout the week.
Loris Healthcare System is a not-for-profit healthcare organization made up of Loris Community Hospital, Seacoast Medical Center, Loris Extended Care Center, Center for Health & Fitness, Family Health Centers, and Alliance Home Care.
