Loris Healthcare System Board Names New Officers
Loris, SC - January, 30, 2006 Loris Community Hospital District's Board of Commissioners elected its officers at their January 23rd board meeting. The Board of Commissioners oversees all actions of Loris Healthcare System.
Ronald M. Fowler was elected Chairman, Tracy P. Ray, O.D., was elected Vice Chairman and Doris P. Hickman was elected Secretary. Board members serving alongside the newly elected officers are Hoyt J. Hardee, Margaret S. Prince, Frankie Blanton, Robert A. Ziff, M.D., Frank Boulineau, Alexander C. Logan, III, M.D., and ex-officio member, Reverend J.P. Jones.
Ronald M. Fowler is a teacher at Green Sea Floyds High School, and serves as a funeral director at Hardwick Funeral Home. Mr. Fowler has been a board member since 2000, and most recently served as Vice Chairman. He is the current Chairman of the 2010 Committee and an active member of the Finance and Audit Committee and Wage and Salary Committee.

"His strong leadership skills and professional experience, along with his dedication to Loris Healthcare System, will support our mission to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve."
Fowler also serves as Treasurer, Trustee and Deacon at Loris First Baptist Church, member of the Advisory Board for Horry County State Bank and an active member of the Loris Lions Club and Loris Masonic Lodge #205. He is also involved with the management of J.R. Suggs, Sr. L.L.C, a farming, banking and real estate institution.

Tracy P. Ray, O.D., elected to serve as Vice Chairman, is an established Loris optometrist, practicing in the community since 1988. Ray has been a board member since 1999. He is currently an active member of the Strategic Planning, Board Succession Planning and Finance and Audit Committees; and serves as Chairman of the Wage and Salary Committee. He is past president of both the Tabor City Rotary Club and Loris Lions Club. Ray has also served on the Executive Board of the South Columbus Stallion Club and as a Sunday School Director at Tabor City Baptist Church.
Re-elected as Secretary, Doris P. Hickman was appointed to the Board of Commissioners in 1995. She is currently Chair of the Aesthetic Committee and an active member of Corporate Compliance and By-Laws Review Committees. Hickman is a retired Business and Marketing educator, and has served in numerous offices with both Horry County and South Carolina Education Associations. She has served as Director of Budget and Finance for Kingston Lake Association, Vice President of the School Improvement Council-FCC and on Conway Housing Board's Self-Sufficiency Board. In addition to her many civic involvements, Hickman is also an active member of Flag Patch Missionary Baptist Church.
Members of the Loris Community Hospital District's Board of Commissioners are appointed by the Governor of South Carolina. The Board ensures that Loris Healthcare System works to achieve its mission to improve the health and well-being of the communities it serves. Members of Loris Healthcare System include Loris Community Hospital, Seacoast Medical Center, Loris Extended Care Center, Family Health Centers located in Loris and Green Sea, and Center for Health & Fitness.
