The Volunteer Services Department at Loris Healthcare System consists of over 90 volunteers and volunteer chaplains who give of their time, talents, and energies for the betterment of our healthcare system, patients and communities we serve. These men and women work in almost every facet of the healthcare system including: chaplains rounds, Gift Shop, information desk, transportation, hospitality cart, surgical waiting areas, outreach screenings, and clerical duties.

In addition to their assigned responsibilities, the volunteers host book fairs, uniform sales, and other fundraisers throughout the year. With these funds, they purchase requested items and donate them to the healthcare system. A few of the items that have been donated include: a sound system for the Center for Health & Fitness, medical equipment, wheelchairs, dietary equipment, and umbrellas for outdoor furniture.

Volunteers also sponsor the daily delivery of newspapers to residents of the Extended Care Center as well as patients and visitors at Loris Community Hospital. Volunteers also provide complimentary coffee to patients, families, and visitors at Loris Community Hospital.

Volunteers provide a valuable service and are an important part of the Loris Healthcare System team. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, you can fill out the following application. The volunteer application is in a PDF format and requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to download. If you do not have Adobe Reader, click here to download first.
